In the USA you will find lots of interesting activities, such as camping, hiking, fishing, extreme sports, and so on. There are so many beautiful and impressive sceneries if you drive from the East Coast to the West Coast (this may take days). What I love about the USA is that camping destinations are almost everywhere. For a camping lover like me, the USA turns out to be my private paradise. Honestly, I would love to know even more scenic places to camp with my friends and enjoy the fresh air in the forest, great views of magnificent mountains and crystal-clear lakes. Go camping for me involves so many aspects, not just sightseeing, but being in contact with nature. Setting up your camping tents in these unbelievable camping destinations and enjoying the fun of picnics, fishing, swimming, and more. Turn off your cellphone at night and get away from the bustling metropolis. Also, look up and seeing all stars is a great way to sense nature. And now, without further ado, let me reveal to you the top 5 camping destinations in the U.S. where you can enjoy a great weekend getaway, bank holidays, and more. And of course, don’t forget to bring your gears before an adventure.

Cumberland Island

The best camping destination, the so-called 'The Sunshine Belt' in the southern United States is the island of Cumberland. You can always discover many interesting things, even if you are exiled here. It is the most preferred resort for families to visit in the South of the United States. During the day, you can enjoy having a picnic with your friends, go swimming, or diving. Added to that fishing and hiking also offer a great way to explore the surroundings. At night, you can set up your tent and switch on your lantern to stay away from the noisy city and enjoy the sense of nature. There are natural sand sculptures, sea marshes, pine forests, and many other natural landscapes on the island on which wild horses gallop around. This creates a truly unique landscape for you to enjoy while camping outdoors.

San Gorgonio

If you fancy Eco-adventure, the wilderness of San Gorgonio will be the perfect camping destination for you. There are more than a dozen hiking trails to choose from that offer a stunning view of the jagged mountains along the way. Climbing to its peak (11, 500 feet) is an impressive adventure. The National Wilderness Preservation areas provide you with feeling that will truly change your view towards nature and all the beauty it has to offer. With my recommendation, places near dry lakes and trail plains are the ideal campgrounds. Camping on Grinnell ridge is also a good option. With its beautiful views of the Suglif peak and the valley of Santa Ala, you simply can’t go wrong.

Acadia National Park

You don’t want to miss out on the Acadia National Park if you are looking for a camping destination on the East Coast. This park (with a size of 168 square kilometers) is located along the Atlantic coast in Maine where you will find 27 miles of island routes which are the essence of the whole park. This park treats you to stunning rugged rocks, forests, a beautiful coastline, peaks, and lakes. One of the most famous spots in the area is Somesville Island, where you can experience forest adventure, cliff climbing and walking along the coast. In the area, there are 306 campsites available for booking. So what are you waiting for? Grab your camping gear and check out this stunning camping destination.

Grand Canyon National Park

The Yellowstone National Park was the first national park in the United States. However, due to its high popularity and many yearly visitors, it is not the ideal camping destination like it used to be. So, why not try something fresh, some places you have never been to before. The Grand Canyon National Park is a great alternative for camping lovers with its landscapes that are similar to Yellowstone, the oldest national park in the USA. There are around 60 camping sites over here. No matter if you like camping in the forest or around a lake, the Grand Canyon is guaranteed to offer a perfect spot for you. In the northern campsites, you are able to see elk, black-tailed deer, bighorn sheep, black bears, moose, and more. And remember to bring your fishing gears, the salmon is waiting to be caught by you!

Balun River State Park

Sometimes, the word ‘camping destination’ is loosely defined as living in a cottage by a lake, the Balun River State Park should definitely be your initial choice. Over here, you are allowed to go fishing, boating, swimming in the lake, spelunking, and so on. Any outdoor activity is available over here. Add to that, it is a good location to stay with your family. Put aside your cellphone and just enjoy the natural beauty this camping destination has to offer.
